EpicAdvice.com – The Blog! No sir, thats Mr. Coffee. This is the blog…

8Oct/094

And it begins!

Special thanks to WoW.com for publishing a short blip about us. You can view it here:

http://www.wow.com/2009/10/08/epicadvice-com-lets-you-ask-and-answer-warcraft-questions/

We are reading the comments and hopefully will be able to address some of the issues people are stating, but we definitely appreciate you guys stressing our servers for this beta period!

We also are going through and up-voting as much stuff as possible to give people enough rep to up-vote things as well. Its an archaic way to start the rep system, but you need to get a few people up enough to vote/etc before things will really get started!

We will try to keep you up to date on the blog, and expect a few more blips on the media radar over the next few days!

  1. Hi just saw the wow insider article. I quite like stackoverflow and an WoW version of it is really cool! You can never go wrong with the community driven format of SO, therefore I don’t have many gripes except one: color scheme!

You know the official WoW forums are already depressing enough with their dark background and white fonts. Maybe you guys can change a bit? A warmer colored background with WoW’ish light-brown-yellow background is definitely more pleasing to the eye. Eg: the style used in WoW’s Quest interface, WoW official homepage and armory. Perhaps you can implement the lighter style along with the current style and have an option to toggle between them.

Anyway thanks for the site keep up the good work!

  2. I must admit – We weren’t quite ready with the design – it is BY NO MEANS final. In fact its just a couple of programmers trying to throw together some custom css at this point. Expect to see design changes during beta. Hopefully for the better! ;)

  3. Yeah the color scheme makes my eyes bleed compared to SO. Please go with something brighter and less contrast where its not needed.

    =(

  4. Just wanted to thank you guys for this. Most of the questions are standard WoW forum fare, but the attitude of the people here is totally different. Keep it up and hope you don’t get too overwhelmed.
